When AirDrop is not enough
Only works with other Apple users
AirDrop is fantastic when everyone has Apple devices, but useless when you need to share with Android or Windows users. Stash lets you share with anyone—they just need a web browser.
Requires physical proximity
AirDrop only works when devices are nearby. Need to share with someone across town or around the world? You need a different solution. Stash works anywhere with an internet connection.
Both people must be available
With AirDrop, the recipient must accept the transfer in real-time. If they are busy, you wait. With Stash, send the link whenever you want—they download whenever they want.
Discovery issues and failures
AirDrop can be finicky. Devices sometimes do not appear, transfers fail mysteriously, or Bluetooth/WiFi conflicts cause problems. Stash links just work—no pairing, no discovery, no failures.
Common scenarios where Stash helps
Sharing with Android users
Your friend has a Samsung, your colleague uses a Pixel. AirDrop cannot help, but Stash works perfectly.
Remote sharing
Send files to family overseas, clients in other cities, or teammates working remotely.
Asynchronous sharing
Share files when it is convenient for you. Recipients download when it is convenient for them.
Sharing with Windows PCs
Work machines, clients, IT departments—Windows is everywhere. Stash works with all of them.

Stash complements AirDrop
You do not have to choose. Use AirDrop when you are in the same room with another Apple user—it is fast and seamless. Use Stash for everything else: Android users, Windows PCs, remote recipients, or anyone not physically nearby.
Together, they cover every file sharing scenario you will encounter.
Try sharing without limits
Upload a file and get a link that works for anyone.
Frequently asked questions
Is Stash as fast as AirDrop?
For local transfers between Apple devices in the same room, AirDrop is faster because it uses direct WiFi. Stash uploads to the cloud first, so it depends on your internet speed. The tradeoff is that Stash works with anyone, anywhere.
Can I still use AirDrop?
Of course. AirDrop is built into your device and Stash does not interfere with it. Use whichever makes sense for the situation—AirDrop for nearby Apple users, Stash for everyone else.
Is Stash as secure as AirDrop?
Both use end-to-end encryption. AirDrop encrypts over the local connection. Stash encrypts files on your device before upload, and the encryption key is embedded in the share link—it never touches our servers.
