Stash

Google Drive Alternative

Share Files Privately

Google Drive is convenient, but your files are not truly private. Stash offers end-to-end encryption and works without any Google account.

True end-to-end encryption

Unlike Google Drive, Stash encrypts your files on your device before upload. The encryption key is embedded in your share link—it never touches our servers. Even if someone breached our infrastructure, your files would be unreadable.

Why switch from Google Drive?

Google account required for full access

While Google Drive allows "anyone with link" sharing, recipients often get prompted to sign in for full functionality. Some organizations block Google services entirely. Stash links work everywhere, no Google account needed.

Privacy concerns with Google

Google's business model relies on data. Files in Google Drive can be scanned and analyzed. Stash uses end-to-end encryption, meaning your files are encrypted before upload—we cannot see them, and neither can anyone else.

15 GB fills up fast

Google Drive's 15 GB is shared across Gmail, Drive, and Photos. Attachments, backups, and photos eat into this quickly. Stash is built for sharing, not storage, so you are not managing quotas.

Clunky on Apple devices

Google Drive on iPhone and Mac works, but it is clearly designed for Android and Chrome. Stash is built natively for Apple devices with deep system integration—share from any app, manage files naturally.

Frequently asked questions

What if my recipient only uses Google services?

No problem. Stash links work in any browser, including Chrome. Your recipient just clicks the link and downloads—they do not need to install anything or leave the Google ecosystem.

Is Stash as secure as Google?

For file sharing, Stash is more secure. Google encrypts files on their servers, but they can access them. Stash encrypts before upload—we mathematically cannot access your files. For pure privacy, end-to-end encryption is superior.

Can I collaborate on documents with Stash?

Stash is for sharing, not collaboration. If you need Google Docs-style real-time editing, use Google. If you need to send someone a file privately and quickly, Stash is the better choice.
